Program description

Escuelas de Bienestar seeks to reduce expressions of violence in the school environment. To achieve this, the program focuses on the development of life skills in children and adolescents through their physical education class.

This program offers training to teachers and facilitators in the methodology designed by Coaches Across Continents to use play and sports to achieve social impact. Participating teachers and coaches are offered free workshops that seek to improve certain aspects of their class and integrate the discussion of social issues using games and sports.

Reason for its creation

One of the main problems in Ciudad Juárez is the different phenomena of violence and its different expressions. In the school environment, violent behaviors are manifested in agressions, violent speech, and unhealthy peer relationships. Similarly, school bullying is a problem that predominates in schools and finally, self-inflicted violence that derives from emotional affectations and of girls, boys and adolescents.
