A year marked by the power of partnerships and collaborative work to overcome challenges and trascend borders.

Message from our Chairman

"If you want to travel fast, go alone...
If you want to travel far, let's go together."

Some time ago I learned this African proverb and its wisdom helped me reflect about what we achieved at Fundación Paso del Norte in 2022.

Our organization entered a stage of maturity and consolidation that allowed us to go further and see beyond the borders of our community to connect with new ideas and initiatives.

With this conviction to transcend, we started the My Machine program in Ciudad Juárez, a program born in Belgium that had never been implemented in Mexico. We also traveled to Lima and Tarapoto in Peru, to train more than 400 teachers the Coaches Across Continents methodology as part of our Escuelas de Bienestar program. Finally, we launched the Juárez Giving Day campaign for the first time, to replicate the successful crowdfunding strategy carried out by our sister foundation Paso del Norte Community Foundation in El Paso.

During 2022, we were able to connect with more than 170 donors, including companies, organizations, and individuals, to whom we owe our deepest gratitude. Your generous support allowed us to mobilize and invest in the community more than $18 million pesos and allocate them to programs that improve the quality of life in Ciudad Juarez.

This report, in addition to being an account of what has been achieved with dedication, responsibility and a commitment to excellence, is the manifesto of our gratitude and appreciation to each of our donors, the Board of Directors and the staff of our foundation for making all this possible.

To achieve more and travel even further, let us continue working together and innovating to elevate the quality of life of the families in our community who need it so much.

Highlights 2022

We connected with over 170 donors thanks to our projects, events, and funds. This allowed us to invest more than $18 million pesos in nonprofits and community interventions.

We transformed our partnership with FICOSEC into a permanent fund to support our Gender Violence Prevention Strategy. Through this strategy, we fund the programs of 7 organizations to address and prevent gender violence and child sexual violence, jointly investing more than $9M pesos.

We established an partnership with My Machine Global Foundation to bring their methodology from Belgium to Ciudad Juárez. With the sponsorship of Microsoft, we carried out a successful pilot in which 70 elementary school students drew the machine of their dreams. 4 drawings were selected, and university students and secondary education students worked in teams to build them and make them come true.
We realized the seventh edition of our Challenge Grant program with the participation of 8 organizations. Through this program, $2.8M pesos will be invested in their community programs.
We started the Second Cohort of REALIZE Transformational Leadership. This program serves leaders and executives of nonprofit organizations who live an experience for 10 months to transform their leadership and strengthen their organizations.
We successfully realized the seventh edition of our annual Juárez en Acción campaign. This year, Juárez en Acción achieved the participation of 19,273 volunteers and the realization of more than 65 community projects. With the support of Terrafina, as part of this program we were able to invest more than $160 thousand pesos in the equipment and renovation of the Bahía Blanca linear park in Parajes del Sur.
We organized the first conference “Entrelazando Redes” in partnership with FICOSEC to discuss the challenges and advances in the prevention of gender violence. The event closed with Olimpia Coral Melo as keynote speaker, she is recognized by TIME Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
For the first time, we organized a workshop with the organization Proyecto Cantera of Ciudad de Mexico for Physical Education teachers and coaches of our Escuelas de Bienestar program. This year, we also traveled to Peru to give a workshop on this methodology to more than 400 participants.
